Tai Chi

Tai Chi can be considered a moving form of yoga and meditation combined. One of the aims of Tai Chi is to foster the circulation of chi within the body and by doing so, to enhance one’s health and vitality. The movements in Tai Chi are done slowly, smoothly and gracefully and can be used for healing and as a martial art. Tai Chi is a proven antidote to stress and tones muscles without the punishment of violent exercise. These changes in muscle improve posture. Ligaments become more supple and the movement of the spinal column tends to be more free and comfortable. Tai Chi works on the elasticity and strength of all the major joints as it helps retard the degeneration of joints. Recent studies show that practicing Tai Chi regularly improves cardio-respiratory fitness, concentration, coordination and inner balance.
